Welcome to Peyriac de Mer - Under Construction

The beautiful village of Peyriac de Mer is situated at the southern end of
the Languedoc Roussillon area of the South of France in
the magnificently rugged region of the Corbières. Over 3,000 sq.
km of well-preserved nature, wild yet hospitable, with the Pyrenean mountains
and the frontier with Spain to the south and the Mediterranean Sea to
the east. In this beautiful part of France, where the sun shines more
than 300 days a year, you are surrounded by a rich history.
For
thousands of years, the Mediterranean has been a highway for travelers,
a center of trade and a place of hospitality. Over the centuries different
cultures and civilisation have left their mark on the land. One after the
other, the Arabs, Greeks, Romans, Visigoths and Carthaginians have left
their magnificent stamp on the Corbières region. But the Mediterranean
heritage is also a natural one, nature having been fashioned and changed
by human labour, by peasants, fisherman and wine growers. Despite a troubled
past, marked by incessant invasions from time immemorial, the region has
never forsaken its tradition of hospitality.
